Account switch over to other phone

When I turn on the 8 on my old phone it said to switch over my account to the 8 but it’s lock so… if I switch it what happen do it unlock it or nothing really going to happen cause the 8 is activation lock. It’s something new to me need help THANX

Is the iPhone 8 plus second hand, bought from someone else, found?

If it’s asking on the activation lock for an email you don’t know then the phone is pretty much paperweight.
