My Sony KDL40W screen went black and started flashing randomly.

Hi, few days ago my TV went black, after some time started flashing randomly with white bright hirizontal lines. The sound is ok.

I googled for some info and I know there is a possibility of T con board failure(which I can replace myself probably) or the LCD panel. But I’m not a specialist in anyway so I’d love to get some help.

I'd also like to know if it is something I can easily or cheaply repair as I am ready to just buy new one in case it is not.
