Is an on MacOS seen iPad good enought to replace display?

Hey

i got an ipad air 2 here which’s screen isn’t showing anything. Hardreset or Battery disconnect did not help yet. But it does show up in MacOS and is called as “acess denied”. Obviously i cannot grant acess due to no functioning display.

Do you guys think it might be worth it to order a replacement unit and give it a shot? Or does the “acess denied” not at least 80% means it is functioning? On the other hand it gives no sound respond while charging.

Sorry for the bad englisch

greetings

Your bad display will need to be replaced iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi Display Assembly Replacement. The bigger question are you up to installing it your self or do you need someone with more skills do it for you?

The fact your Mac sees the USB connection of the iPad is a good sign! Nothing more.

im sure to get the replacement done, just unsure if it works at all with a new screen…

sadly i also broke the touch id flex cable ( it ripped of between the button itself and the silver part on the right. )

im afraid of error 53 if i replace it with a aftermarket button. is this still a thing

or is there an option to solder the old chip from the old ribbon complex itself to a new touch button flex part ?

Ouch! Not good ;-{

Only Apple can fix this with a replacement button unit.

Micro-soldering is an art! You'll need to ship your iPad to someone who can fix it. Check out iPad Rehab--Microsoldering
