Why is my PC booting up but not going to the home screen?

My pc will boot up and I can see the boot up screen, but after it boots up the screen goes black. If this happened to anyone else and they know the answer could you help me out? Thank you.

What OS is installed in the computer, Win 7, Win 8.1, Win 10?

Try starting the PC in "safe mode" and check if it works OK.

Search online for how to start Windows in safe mode for your particular OS.

Post back with the results.

Did you try starting in safe mode?

If it works OK you have a driver problem.

What is the full model number of the computer?

It won't show me that screen at all so I just guess what to press at the moment.

Options

Try re-installing Windows 10, and make sure your boot option in BIOS is set to the hard drive or Windows manager.
