Night Vision Not Working

I had to turn off the breaker to my son’s room for electrical work, and ever since then the monitor shows a much darker picture. At night, you can’t even see the room at all! Does anyone have thoughts on how I can possibly fix this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

My monitor is not working at night either. I can’t even see my daughter in her crib and the camera is mounted right above her. I don’t have the original receipt and I would love if I could fix it since it was one of the more expensive monitors.

The problem of night vision can be caused by an unstable power supply and it may be that your Infant Optics batteries/power source are faulty or not placed correctly. I fixed this issue by reading this guide https://www.10babythings.com/infant-opti.... You can first do a battery reset by removing/unplugging the power source and putting the battery pack back after 5 to 10 minutes.

Ever since I bought an additional camera my images are always black and white during daylight. Is there a fix for this?

I don't know how, but it seems to be working again. We have the zoomed in lens and the company said to remove that and see if night vision works without the added lens. That didn't work. Tonight though I just turned the brightness basically all the way up and I can finally see an image! It's more grainy than normal, but I'll take that over a black screen. I also unplugged everything on the camera at one point, just in case that's something you haven't tried yet.

We had the same problem today with both cameras for our Infant Optics DXR-8, but simply taking the battery out of the monitor for 10 minutes, then putting it back in, fixed it for us!!!

It sounds like the near IR LED’s are not turning on. They should be glowing slightly in full darkness.

Thanks! I don't think we've checked that out. If they're not, is this a part that can be replaced, that you know of?

by

Their might be a setting in the unit or the power logic got damaged from the power disruption.

I really appreciate it! I was afraid it might have gotten damaged, so that might just be what happened. We do have the zoom in lens on the camera currently, thoughts to what might happen if we just use the standard lens that came with the unit?

by

The lens does not have any bearing on the near IR LED's (8) that surround the lens.

Let me know if you figure this out because I’m having the same problem with my Infant Optics DXR-8.

Sounds like this is a common failure ;-{

I know enough to help guide you on what to look at from my experience with security cameras (which are basically the same).

I think you'll need to contact the company to see if they offer either a repair service or the electrical diagrams & schematics so you can trace out the logic and replace the damage components.

Our night vision stopped working 2 weeks ago. We never had a wide angle lens. All we see at night is a variable black and gray pixelated image. So disappointed in the company. They won’t give us a replacement or even fix it because we don’t have the original receipt (monitor was a shower gift) and we have been using it about 16 months.

They wouldn't replace it without an original receipt for us too. Of course we didn't think to save it. Try unplugging everything, wait for a minute, and plug it back in. It was a few days before it started working again for us. So sorry!

Had the same issue last night…had to turn off the breaker, and when I turned it back on, night vision wasn't working. I ended up taking the battery out of the monitor for 15 minutes, and I also turned off and unplugged the camera for that amount of time. I reinstalled the battery, plugged the camera back in, and turned it on in a bright room. When I turned the lights off, the night vision was working again.
