Is it possible to replace an iPod classc battery with an iPodtouch B?

I recently replaced a IPOD classic HDD to an SSD and I've upgraded it to Rockbox. I am having a difficult time playing music. I charge the iPod battery over night but I only get 5min of battery.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

No. The battery from an iPod touch simply won't fit in an iPod classic.

Well... almost.

The current draw of the original HD is higher than the SSD units that fit this iPod.

The issue is the ability of the battery to support the circuitry the iPod Classic needs a 3.7 Volt 840 mAh battery. Using a substitute battery is the likely issue here.
