How to clone the system from my old ssd (MacBook died) to my new macb?

Hey,

my old MacBook died. So I bought a new one.

I connected my old ssd to the new macbook with an adapter and want to restore everything like I had it before. How can I do it?

When I start my new macbook with control +r, the external ssd isn't shown as a possible ‘backup source’.

Please help me
