SATA SSD or M.2 SSD

I’m wondering if anyone here can answer this, I tried looking it up with no result, but it’s quite a quick question. If I order a new iMac with an SSD, will the SSD be in the SATA port, or in the M.2/PCIe port?

Apple offers a custom PCIe/NVMe Blade SSD in their systems (not M.2).

If you are ordering a new system it will be a Blade SSD, Apple does not offer any 2.5” SATA based SSD’s

Here’s a more detailed specs listing for the current line up of Mac systems: EveryMac - Currently Shipping Macs

And here’s more information on the custom SSD’s Apple uses: The Ultimate Guide to Apple’s Proprietary SSDs so you can review the performance of the different generations.
