How to eject disk without a working hard drive?

Hello

My Imac late 2006 dont recognizes the hdd and i want to eject a disk that is in the optical drive. The disk is the cd of the mount lion instalation. Can you help me?

Restart your iMac and press and hold the Media Eject key (⏏) on your keyboard. You can also eject the disk pressing and holding the mouse button as well during the reboot.

Typically there is a small hole in the front of a diskdrive . Straighten out a paperclip and insert, should cause the tray to eject

Sorry but the imac optical drive doesnt have that, only the macbook ones.
