If properly jumped no.

First you need to make sure both car batteries are the same voltage (don’t try to us a 24 volt truck battery to jump a 12 volt car battery). Make sure your cars are not touching each other (metal to metal) in case one car is positive ground.

Make sure you have clean surfaces on the posts of both batteries and the cars battery cables are clean and secured on your dead battery.

Make sure both cards are in either park or neutral and the hand brake is pulled.

Hook up the Red jumper to the positive lugs on both cars. Holding the Black Jumper cable hook it up to the running cars battery and hold the other end so its not touching anything. Place the Black jumper onto the exposed metal part of the body Not the battery!! A spark could cause the battery to explode spraying acid onto you.
