Need M.2 key type to upgrade SSD

Hello! I have an HP Pavilion x360 Convertible, model 15-br0xx, product number 2DS97UA#ABA, and it currently utilizes an M.2 SSD, but uses the “B & M” edge connector. I’d like to clarify if the socket on the motherboard is either “B” or “M” keyed, so I can upgrade to the proper SSD interface. If it uses an “M” keyed socket, I’d be a happy upgrader. The hp forum kind of pointed me to their store to buy the SSD, but I want to shop around, and Google has had no insight either. Thanks for the help!

Look on the top of page 15 - it tells you the kind of solid state drive you can use in your computer.  Check the two PCIe NVMe drives.  I’m pretty sure that this is what you want.  But when I looked up the part number (L01520-001) on one of them, I couldn’t find the part.  Looking up parts on the HP website is hopeless.  If you can find one of the two drives that are listed there, you will be able to see if it is the type of drive you are looking for.

I've been doing some research as well (new to the whole PCIe SSD thing), and it looks like I can do an NVMe drive, now just need to decide on WD Black or Smasung 970 Evo. And yes, looking up part on the HP site is frustrating. THanks for the assist!

Hello.

I also want to update the SSD.

What drive did you buy?

What are the speeds in the tests?
