Do I need 2 RAM upgraded boards for a late 2011 MacBook Pro?

It said a max is 8GB. Only assuming I could get 2 4GB.

All of the Late 2011 models support upto 16 GB of RAM with two SO-DIMM modules. Once we know which model we can tell you a bit more.

I forgot the model number but did go though the entire process to verify everything. Right now it has 2- 2GB boards. I need to increase since it is slow now that it is at High Sierra OS. If I would get 2- 8GB boards that should be more then enough, I would assume

@mwaner2018 - If your system is running slow you might want to backup and reformat your drive. Or, install a SSHD or SSD which will offer faster I/O access which is more likely your issue. Do keep in mind you do want to leave the SD between 1/4 to 1/3 of the drive un-used
