How do I fix a brand new Nerf Modulus Regulator that is not firing?

Our son just got the Regulator for Christmas. We put the batteries in it today and loaded the mag to let him play with it. Well, that didn't go as planned. It revs up like it's going to fire. But when you go to pull the trigger nothing happens. It doesn't matter what selection you are on for firing either. I did look at the belt that helps propell the dart without a mag in it with my finger pushing down the sensor button. The belt does not spin or move. I'm not for sure if it's supposed to unless the trigger is pulled. Just trying to fix this dart gun. Please help

My son's Regulator was firing just fine in all 3 modes for about 4 clip changes (12 darts per clip). Then one dart entered the barrel and remained there. Don't know if he released the acceleration button to soon. Anyway, the dart was removed by gently pushing it out with a pencil through the transport belt cover opening but the flywheels won't rev up and also the empty clip light doesn't light up. I even replaced the (new) batteries but without result. No sure if this is related to your question but i could not find a related topic elsewhere. Bart

Make sure the darts are the long ones. I had that issue today and realized maybe the darts we were using were too short and the propeller-like tab on the conveyor belt couldn’t reach it. Sure enough, switched it out and works like a charm!

My stepson just had the issue where the belt was moving but the bullets would not fire. I completely dissembled the gun and found one of the motors that propel the bullets had become dislodged, and simply snapped in back into place. This gun is not an easy one to re-assemble, but I managed in a few hours to get everything working again.

Same happened to me. I stopped using it for 6 months then I picked it up and it started working fine.

Mine has the same problem but I know what the problem is. The drive belt is broken. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Is it covered under warranty? Did you buy it brand new from a store? Try returning it to where you bought it first & buy a new one.

Thanks Trevor.

Your answer is the first and best option obviously! However, "Santa" did not not keep the receipt and I don't even know where he (she) got it...

I did contact Hasbro. Amazing customer service btw. They emailed me a shipping label and just told me to send it back to them. They are going to then send a new one to us. Even said to keep the accessories to use with another nerf gun. Shipping is even going to be covered by them.

Thank you for the help though.

I have had this problem for a long time but I have had it for about a year now so I can’t refund

Look at the manule, it shows that the button above/below the middle finger, you have to press on it. Then you will hear a noise coming from the gun, and that is when you pull the trigger and will start firing depending on the mode you put it on.

My son got this for Christmas and it worked the first two times he used it and now we are having the exact same problem and he has a Nerf battle with a bunch of friends tomorrow and it's not working. It has new batteries in it the bullets are not coming out at all and then the third time he did it, one came out randomly. That's frustrating to spend the money for that and have it be so inconsistent and problematic. You would think that they would test run these things enough to know that they might specifically need a longer bullet or that there tends to be a problem consistently inside the Nerf gun.

Whenever your blaster has trouble shooting, it's either jammed or there's something wrong with the mechanics. Make sure you use the correct type of ammo that has the correct length. If that doesn't resolve the issue, unscrew and open up your blaster to look for the parts that have problems with. There are plenty of photos online that show the blaster when disassembled. Try to follow those pictures and rearrange the parts. Also, I recommend you to join Nerf Amino. It is a Platform where many Nerfers gather together and discuss about Nerf. You can contact some of the modders there and they could probably help you with that.

Actually guys, put 6-10 bullets in the mag, the spring is too tight with 12 and the bullet isn't propelled out..
