I would like to fix my display issue!

Block Image

Goodday fellow tinkerers and maniacs!

Wondering how to fix a bug that occurs when booting my ZTE Axon 7 (A2017G).

Most of times it starts with 15 times rebooting when switched on, but eventually there sparks light in my fancy paperweight.

My tagged picture explains what my phone has regarding visual symptoms, and after using the phone for 2 min the screen works again.

But if I cease my gentle handeling of my sick friend it suddenly decides to shut down again.

Anyone knows what part I should replace internally?

Oh, and yes. After updating to Android 8.0 all my VR apps like DayDream just went: NO. NO SPUPPORTO CHINISO PHONO!

Downloading a rollback flash off the ZTE site atm with 500 kb/ps…

Tnx in advance!

Kind regards,

Thomas J. de Jong

Fix for the display that he mentioned that worked for me:

Hold your phone upright with the screen facing you. Pinch the right side of the phone up and down, you may or may not hear or feel a click. your display should now be working.

So,

I squeezed like a madman just like the Pixel’s like it best. Boop! Screen revived.

Asked and answered well done , however you may want to check out @oldturkey03 's answer in the same post as it has an excellent tear down video showing the cable that's the culprit . This is a better way to connect the screen display more permanently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqivSM0N...
