My earbuds one work even though I have an adapter for them to plug in

So I bought this computer on black friday, its a power spec and it has a mic jack and a headphone jack. I got an adapter for them and went out and bought earbuds today. I plugged the headphone into the adapter, adapter into the computer and then I can only hear from only the right earbud and the only noise that anyone else can hear is a repeat of what I can hear in game. Any fixes?

What kind of adapter? Why do you need an adapter for your earbuds if the PC has an audio out already?

So i have an adapter that plugs into both the mic and audio jack which turns into one mic/audio jack that i can plug my earbuds into. I need earbuds so I can hear and a earbud mic so I can talk. Ive tried using my monitors speaker and only using the mic jack but the mic still doesnt work.

The pinout on your earbuds probably doesn’t match what the adapter is meant for. There are several patterns that earbud/mic combos use:

try looking up the specific model of your earbuds, and look for adapters compatible with them.
