Can I test a screen before completely installing it?

So I’m pretty sure I know the answer to this - but can I test out the screen replacement without hooking up the camera, home button, etc? Can I just attach the three cables to the phone to make sure the screen works, or would it brick the phone?

You should always test the screen before transferring over all the small parts. It won’t cause any damage to the phone. However, without the Home Button, the boot time may be longer. If the screen works fine, then transfer over the FCAM/HB and then test again before sealing the device.

Be very careful with the flex cables as they can tear quite easily.

Thank you. :) For some reason I was under the impression it would brick the phone. >.<
