Can't Set Time & Date Automatically

Hi,

I can’t seem to configure the Time & Date on my iPhone 5C. My SIM is working fine and I get full signal, although when I choose to set time automatically it just hangs on setting the Time Zone. I just get the loading animation next to Time Zone and it never seems to load.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Donald,

It may be that it’s having trouble with location services. You can try to toggle some settings off and on to see if it will clear it. Also check if location services is even turned on.

Toggle:

Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically (off/on)

Check if location services is on:

Settings>Privacy>Location Services (off/on)

Check if time zone has access to location services:

Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services>Setting Time zone option

Hi Arthur, Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I have already tried all of these and non of them seem to work. I have also tried a Network Reset and a Full Factory Reset with no luck.

I'm sorry to hear that! I wonder if at this point it's a hardware issue. We'll see if anyone else chimes in.

Hi Donald. A bit late but did did u manage to fix your issue? I'm having the same problem.

@rishkadavids It's a relatively common hardware issue on 5Cs. Impacts on the iPhone creates micro-fractures at the WiFi IC. It can be fixed, although not absolutely reliably, by a reflow or better a reball of the IC. Given present value of a 5C such a repair would cost more than a working 5C iPhone.
