Is there a way to fix hard drive?

my hard drive has a jammed read arm (you can hear it clicking when held up to your ear)is there a way to fix this?

Not unless you have a clean room, kind of like a bio level 4 lab. I believe that there is no point in attempting the do-it-yourself type repair at home. There is little you can do to repair a physically damaged device without the special equipment. This of course does not mean that it can't be done, with the right tools and in the right place. if you have a mac, plug it in and go to disk utility. select format, and write zeros over the drive. this will force the arm to un jam and write zeros to the damaged sectors. this will leave you with around 100 mb less space, but youll have a fully working ipod. after this is done, restore with itunes.
