Won’t turn on, has charged battery

I have a mid 2009 17” MacBook Pro with a new calibrated battery and now the computer will not turn on even with the 85 watt MagSafe plugged in.

Prior to draining the battery it worked fine.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@science_teacher As you seem to be looking for a solution, answering to a dated question won't get you as much attention as actually asking a question yourself since it might well go unnoticed by most. That's how things usually work on this forum.

Does your Mac run fine with the battery disconnected? Disconnect the battery and try powering up your Mac without it.

Mwhuahah..that's where they come from..funny guys, remind me of myself when I'm waiting for Dhl to knock with spares I need badly :D

By the way, being a 2009 17" I'd bet it won't start even without the battery..it's getting cold and needs a heater..or a board repair..

@arbaman I guess time will tell if the Mac will start without the battery or not.

Also, congrats on 20k rep.
