Phantom home button? nani?

so riddle me this. lady comes in with a 6s plus and needs a home button and a screen. i try 2 home buttons and 2 screens and couldent get a single home button to work but the screen worked fine. she was okay with just the screen so i put it back together and out of habit pressed where the home button would be when it turned on AND THIS ##&&% TURNS ON NORMALLY i keep messing with it and THE HOME BUTTON IS WORKING PERFECTLY FINE BESIDES FINGER PRINT. BUT THERE IS LITERALLY NO HOME BUTTON IN THE PHONE. shes cool with it obviously so no problems but im just so confused on how that even works? anyone have any idea how that could possibly work? its like the phone had phantom limb syndrome

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

also before you ask if it was just the screen acting weird it wasent. i left it locked and didnt touch it and nothing happened. i unlocked it and didnt touch it and nothing happens. i even put pressure down near the bottom of the screen and not on the home button and still nothing. but the second i touch where the home button should be it instantly pops on and opens to the lock screen.

You sir have just experienced something on another level lol. I have no idea why that is happening but I really did enjoy the humor. I'm gonna take a look around and probably enter a rabbit hole of some sort and get back to you because this my friend…. Is black magic.

Like you're saying there is physically no home button inside the phone? Like there is a circular hole allowing you to see part of the lightning port?
