Unable to activate - error.

Trying to set up this iPhone 6s and I keep on getting this message.

Unable to Activate

An update is required to activate your iPhone.

I have put it into restore mode twice now into iTunes on my Mac and attempted to Update & Restore. Still coming back with the same thing. Haven’t tried just restoring but it’s saying it needs an update. Also has the small exclamation mark in the top left hand corner with a “No Service” sign next to it, even though it has a SIM in it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I think your phone not have IMEI now.... Check on Activision screen symbol “I “ ….. When you not see the IMEI is baseband problém... Without IMEI not possible

A fault in baseband circuitry is enough to have a phone being unable to provide the associated IMEI code. Nothing to do with a stolen board.

Follow these steps:

  1. Check the list on the System Status page. If the box by iOS Device Activation isn't green, try to activate your iPhone later.
  2. If asked to enter your password as you activate your iPhone, enter the password. (A password prompt means that Activation Lock might be enabled in Find My iPhone.)
  3. Restart your iPhone (Skip since you have tried this method).
  4. If you're using a cellular data connection, connect to a reliable Wi-Fi network instead.

If you still can't activate, here's how to activate your iPhone through iTunes instead:

  1. Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.
  2. Check that your computer has an Internet connection.
  3. Open iTunes on your computer. With the cable that came with your iPhone, connect your iPhone to your computer.
  4. Wait while iTunes detects and activates your iPhone:
  5. If iTunes shows, "Set up as New" or "Restore from Backup," it means that iTunes activated your iPhone.
  6. If an error in iTunes says that the SIM card isn't compatible, contact your carrier.

If all of the methods not working, try to contact Apple Support.

iUnable to activate related to baseband issues.If the phone fails to detect IMEI while on activating the phones.There is common problem shows on.The way of repair that problem

.1- BBPMU reball

2- Wtr problem

3- BBCPU reball

That need to hardware skill that can`t be fixed with software.
