Workforce wf 3640 page is half black when it scans and copies

When I copy or scan the output on the right side is black. I have done all the recommended cleaning. If I do a reset, (unplug for 30 sec) the first page will be fine, the second page will start printing black about 1/4 of the way down. This occurs whether using the ADF or the glass. Please help if you can, I am stumped. I have had this printer for several years and have never had this problem.
