My MacBook Air is not recognizing the keyboard or trackpad

what could cause this issue? I have perviously replaced the SSD.

Your trackpad and/or the IPD cable needs replacing. Your system uses the trackpad as a junction for the keyboard with the trackpad signals and then the two signals travels to the logic board over the IPD cable.
