How hot will compressor get when first turned on?
and how long will it last? Is it possible to have wires backwards for start relay and overload? What will happen if wireds are backwards?
Is this a good question?

sobeitdana the typical lifespan for a compact fridge is 14 years on average, while a standard refrigerator will run up to 17 years. Your compressor is most likely a single phase so you would not have much happening, sometimes the run/start caps do not like it.

what do lifespans of compact and standard refrigerators have to do with the compressor getting very hot?
Fridge compressor run very hot and that is why they have a have a thermal shutoff. The thermal shutoff would turn the compressor off before any damage occurs. What can make a compressor get really hot if it runs continously because it cannot cool the fridge/freezer. That could be caused by bad/dirty condenser fan, bad condenser etc. It is not related to the

sobeitdana give us some more specific information. What make/model is your fridge? Have you replaced the compressor? What are the issues? Are you just asking a general question without having a fridge with an issue?

Put in new starter relay and overload protector, not sure got wiring right. Would compressor work if wires are backwards? Haier 1.8 cf
