Hi Joe,

I would advise that you backup your device before making any repair effort.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon  > Settings > Back up and reset.
  2. Tap Back up my data to enable or disable.

Enabled when a check mark is present.

If disabled, existing backups are deleted from Google's servers.

  1. From the Backup account field, ensure the appropriate account is listed.

Back up my data must be enabled.

  1. To change accounts, tap Backup account.
    1. Tap the preferred account
  2. Tap Automatic restore to enable or disable.

Enabled when a check mark is present.

This will ensure you don’t lose any data.

As far as replacing the switch, this is the part you will need:

[linked product missing or disabled: IF331-000]

The volume button board contains the board for the power button as well. You won’t nee to replace the physical button you see on the outside, the problem would be in the circuitry beneath.

HOWEVER, you did not include your device model information. Please ensure this part is compatible with your device.

Thanks

Ryker
