Card slot damage issue

I’m pretty sure I have a damaged card slot due to a damaged card that I pulled out. A metal pin fell out that did not belong to my card. I can still put cards in my camera however I get an error message every time I put any card in the slot now.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Sadly, the SD card slot in your camera is part of the motherboard, so unless you can do fine SMD soldering, you’ll have to get a new motherboard or have someone who knows how to solder SMD components do it.

The replacement card slot itself is only about $7 on eBay, but requires fine soldering.

A replacement motherboard will run you about $48 on eBay, requires no soldering, and has a replacement guide on the device page.
