3DS xl 2015 turn on then goes to sleep mode

Got a used 3ds xl 2015 from a friend, broken upper screen, quick and simple repair.

Saw that he “attempted” to repair the handheld himself with no success. (missing a couple screws and the wifi cable is chewed up a little from being placed improperly).

Home button stop working about 2 months back. Have not had time to replace the issue.

I moved to a new state, found my 3ds xl that my friend gave me, got the replacement home button.

Turned it on, saw power light go on (Lower Blue light closes to home button), bottom screen back light goes on, Orange (wifi) light go on, blink, then a small pop noise from the speaker and the entire system is in sleep mode (blue and orange light fades in and out No screen light or back light).

I have tired a hard reset (holding power till it shuts off) and then back on. Nothing.

I have tried a New SD card, as well same nothing.

I have tried a force Update (L+F, A, and Up on d-pad while turning it on) nothing.

Anyone face with this issue before?
