Tool for testing components and parts?

Hello,

Just wondering if there are any tools or products available for testing the components/parts for iPhones from the 5S to the latest X. Do people generally resort to taking a known working device and plugging in components piece by piece or is there an easier way?

Yes typically but if you do many of these an extension cable would be a good idea because you would rather break a two dollar cable than a 5-600 dollar phone

Thanks. Looking at parts available for purchase I saw those ribbon extension cables. Mainly I was looking to hear that is indeed the way people go about testing parts.

Ya this is what I do it is the best way to make sure while testing many parts like it bulk that you dont damage the motherboard, but you do still have to remove the battery connector to prevent shorting
