Keyboard stopped working after cleaning

So I was cleaning my keyboard with a Clorox wipe and the keyboard started repeating and eventually stopped working. I read online to pour distilled water in order to release the chemicals and let the laptop dry off. Now the keyboard completely does not work anymore. Trackpad and power button are both fully functional and I am also able to connect an external keyboard in order to use it. What should I do. Should I replace only the keyboard. Does anyone have a link to the tools needed to replace the keyboard. Thanks

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

First off, did you pour water directly on your keyboard? That’s what I’m getting out of this.

poured water on it with the laptop at an angle to let the water drip off and then let it dry out. laptop was powered off while i did this. prob wasnt a great idea

you KILLED keyboard with water (does not matter distilled)

Is dead as Do-Do

If will not magically start working after about 24hrs is more than dead - pray you did not liquid damaged motherboard as that will be dead MacBook too.

Keyboard can be replaced but takes a time and knowledge - I would not recommend you to do this as you pour water on keyboard and you are surprised it is not working.

What you did may have killed your keyboard then and there. Doing what you said you did is an urban legend and only proved to ruin keyboards, not clean them. You have an expensive and timely replacement ahead of you.

Thank you. I will end up replacing the uppercase. The battery and trackpad are both still fully functional. Do I need to buy the A-Stock/ With Trackpad or Battery or can I just purchase the A-Stock/ No Trackpad or Battery and put in the old trackpad and battery
