Updating from MacOS 10.7.5 on early 2011 MacBook Pro

I recently replaced a dead battery for my 2011 MacBook pro, I am still running the out-of-box OS Lion 10.7.5. Mojave is not supported but I am missing out on an array of other operating systems. Is there a way to update to say Sierra (or really anything other than Lion because this thing is REALLY starting to show it’s age. The App Store doesn’t appear to support any of the older non-Mojave OS’s and I am at a loss.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

If you can borrow a friend’s Mac that supports the App Store you can create a bootable USB that should work with your Mac using the guide below.
