Switching iPhone 7 Logic boards

So I have a iPhone 7 that I bought off a friend and she forgot her password for the actual phone and the iCloud. So I was wondering if I buy a new Logic board and use it to replace the old one.

  1. Will the phone be unlocked?
  2. Will the new Logic board come with the IOS installed?
  3. Will the network carrier change?

Essentially you will be doing a brain transplant.

Yes, this will unlock the device.

Yes, it will have some form of iOS installed.

No, it will not have her information on the new logic board.

Also yes, it will change the network carrier, depending on the fact it is unlocked or not.

Keep in mind that if you plan on doing this, you will need the home button linked to the logic board you are installing. If you do not have this, the home button will not work. This is due to a software lock Apple has on the 7 and 7 plus.

I would not recommend doing this.

So you are saying that it is possible but risky?

It is possible, but you will be missing some key features of the iPhone 7 if all you are switching over is a replacement logic board.

What features will I be missing?

@ghostdog12 Before buying a replacement logic board make sure the seller will supply it coupled with the relevant home button, otherwise you'll loose touch ID and home button functions.

exactly what arbaman said. you'll be missing touch id and home button functions.
