Black screen but everything else works

I don’t know computer tings so sorry if I explain this wrong lol. Also this is my sisters Mac and she gets home in like an hour and she finna best my ass if this isn’t fixed by then

Anyway so I turned on the Mac today, it was flat so I put it on charge. Everything was normal and then like 5 minutes later the screen went completly black. I turned it off and then back on for the screen to only stay on for another 30 seconds ish. I tried the torch hack and shined it through the logo to see if the screen was working and it was. I logged in and tried turning it off and on again a tonne of times but the display lights won’t turn on (I think that’s what it’s called???). What could be causing this and how do I fix it?????

Thanks

I’m sorry for you and your sister, but if the backlight went bad either it broke because that may happen in an entropic universe, or the Mac was somehow abused earlier..liquid spill some time back ? Whatever the reason, it’s not a do it yourself repair you can take care of in 15 mins before she gets back home. Try an SMC reset, but I’m afraid it won’t solve your issue and you’ll have to find someone into component level repair to fix it.
