All photos are dark, even on manual and very dark on auto.
I have a old D40 DSLR which worked fine for me, then everything went dark, the photos that is. All functions appear to work normally, it is just taking very dark pictures. It happened suddenly and as I was working away I am only getting round to looking at it now. It has charged up ok and operates fine, excepting as I desribed above.
Any solutions or ideas?

It is not the settings but something to do with the hardware. I have reloaded the Firmware and am running the latest version. I have reconfigured the setting, factory reset etc. The problem remains and it constant.
