sueter, this would strictly be a windows issue and it has to do with the hibernation. Here is what Microsoft has to say.

If you receive a message to delete restoration data, confirm it

When you put a computer in hibernation or on standby, Windows XP saves all system content to the system drive\Hiberfil.sys file before the system shuts down.

Note system drive is a placeholder for the drive where Windows is installed.

The Ntldr file examines the integrity of the Hiberfil.sys file. If the Hiberfil.sys file is damaged, you may receive an error message that has the following format:

Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu.

If you receive this error message, you are then prompted to delete the restoration data. Press ENTER to allow Windows XP to delete the Hiberfil.sys file and restart the computer.

Good Luck and I hope this will help you out.

Perhaps the system receives any other key pressed.

Try to enter BIOS, leave options by default and change value of

"Halt on / Halt on errors :" in "NO" or "NO ERRORS", change also

"Typematic Rate and Delay" to default values.

If doesn't work:

Try changing keyboard.

If doesn't work:

If the keyboard is USB, some computers don't accept it while the operating system is not fully loaded.

As a laptop, should work, so, don't be stuck on it and we should try an external keyboard via USB.
