Asus T100TA White screen upon startup

I have an Asus T100TA. Everything was working fine and then all of a sudden I have a white screen. I have tried to do a reset by holding down the power button for 10 sec. but it wouldn’t do anything. It has now been unplugged for 3 days (so I thought the battery would die) but when I hold down the power button, I keep getting the white screen. Tried to find video’s on YouTube for a fix but can’t find anything specific to this laptop.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi,

Connect an external monitor to the laptop and check if its' display is OK when the laptop is turned on.

Assuming that you may have Win 10 installed, try starting the laptop in safe mode (see options 4,5,or 6) and see if the screen works OK then.

I am not able to connect an external monitor as the Asus does not have a port for that.

Hi,

According to the User manual taken from this webpage the Asus T100TA has a micro HDMI port (see p.14 item #8 for location)

by

Sorry, it does have the HDMI port but the monitor that I have does not not have an HDMI connector so unfortunately, that does not help me unless I go out and spend money on another monitor.

Hi ,

OK how about your TV if you have one, does that have HDMI inputs? You'll probably need a micro to standard HDMI cable to connect it tothe TV

Still try the safe mode options in case it is a driver problem and hopefully not a display or motherboard problem

Yes, I can connect it to the TV! I will try that and start it in safe mode. Thanks!
