Whirlpool Cabrio washer leaking from bottom

My washer is leaking from the bottom. Have been washing bedding and it was getting off balance and it is leaking from underneath. The leaking started about a week ago. Last night, it stopped mid wash and refused to unlock. I unplugged it and let it sit unplugged overnight. Still locked. I found online how to reset it, so when I got the lid open, it was half full of water and was leaking onto the floor even when unplugged and hoses disconnected. We got the bedding out and got it to drain by the “drain and spin” cycle, and no additional water came out. We tipped it back and not knowing what I was looking at, I could see there had been water at the bottom (pulley assembly was wet). Hooked it back up and while running a half load of the wet towels, there is water coming out from under it again. HELP PLEASE?????? I’ve got my daughter’s family of 4 living with me and her boys (5 and 3) are true boys!!!!! Lots of laundry!!! THANKS!

we would need to know the exact model of your washer. The water could be coming from the tub “was getting off balance and it is leaking from underneath” (possibly along the tub drive shaft) or from either the drain or recirculating tub. You mentioned that “there had been water at the bottom (pulley assembly was wet).” If at all possible take some pictures and post those with your question. That way we can see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that.

Thanks for the response! I guess I should have listed the model with my question. It’s a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW5500XW. It seems to be leaking during the wash cycle. I stood and watched it and it kind of sprays out under the front and isn’t leaking the whole tub of water. Won’t be able to get pics now until after this weekend now. I’ve been washing bedding and towels so I’m going to do a load of regular clothes in a bit to see what it does with that. Thanks again!!!

"it kind of sprays out under the front " sounds like a hose or a puncture somewhere
