Why is my equalizer HIGH knob not working?

When I insert my microphone using either quarter inch or XLR input I hear my voice at any volume but my voice EQ sound is low. I try using the HIGH knob and there is no change when I adjust my vocal EQ. Can anyone give me advice on how to fix it myself since I am out of warranty?
