I think machine has blown fuse

I think machine has blown fuse. The cord got caught while vacuuming, stopped and will not turn on again. There was no noise or burning smell. Nothing to indicate motor failure. The cord is undamaged. I suspect the machine plug became dislodged from the power socket or something similar to make it blow a fuse. What type of fuse do I need please? Is this something an electrician could fix as I live in a remote area , need the machine for daily use for medical reasons and for medical reason cannot use another machine in the meantime until this one is fixed.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi,

After fiddling with the actuator and power cord the machine works again , and it the cord is at a certain angle the machine stops until the angle is corrected. So I think you are right, the issue is with the power cord. Question: Would it be possible to fix the wiring within the cord retract as I cant find a replacement cord retract as dyson no longer stock parts and I have been unable to source elsewhere.

Hi Gemma,

Please look into this post: How do I replace the damaged power cord

It lists the disassembly instructions for the power cable retraction system - along with replacement.

When reviewing your symptom and “possible” cause being “cable-displacement” - THIS REALLY STOOD OUT! I hope it helps some.
