Light on water dispenser won't turn off

I have a F&P fridge over freezer with a water dispenser on the front and the light won’t turn off. We haven’t used this water function for 18 months due to no water line to the fridge. Only happened today. Any ideas??

It should have two micro switches, one for the water and one for the ice maker. Check the water dispenser switch and make sure its not stuck closed, you should be able to push it in with your finger and it should pop back out when you release it.

Of course this may also be caused by having no water going to it.

There is also a small light bulb icon on the control panel. That will turn it on and leave it on. Push it once and the light goes back to on and off. Had one of my kids push it and turn it on. I discovered the icon, pushed it and turned the light off and it operates normally now when you get water and ice.

Good call, didn’t even see this before.

Yes. It worked!. Thank you.

Same here! I was ready to have my 6'2" son pull out the refrigerator to unplug it so it would reset, and he says "There's a light bulb icon right here in the corner!" He pressed it and the light went off. To my defense, it was one of those faint Frigidaire 'invisible' control panels :) This is a great website!

I have a Frigidaire 27 cu.ft. Gallery ,side by side door over freezer refrigerator with water and ice dispenser on the left door. The dispenser LED lights stayed on continuously.Solved the problem by turning off 120 volt power to the refrigerator ,not on the door controls. This total removal of power reset the system and the light works as originally provided.I left the power off for 5 minutes just to assure enough resetting occurred.

I have the same Fridge/Freezer as Mike Grace. Only Half the numbers are showing on the front door panel as if half the bulb is working. Any ideas how to fix or replace?

I had unplugged the fridge to clean behind. Afterwards, the water dispenser light stayed on. I checked this site for a solution, which was to unplug the fridge for a few minutes to reset controls. This worked for me.

I had a power outage in my area and when it was restored the dispenser light came on, I tried unplugging to reset and it went off and came back on later.
