There are wide vertical bands of color across the screen of my Sony KDL-40VL160 TV, mostly pink in color.
Can you open these?

that could be a T-con board, Main board or panel issue. Try your onscreen TV menu and let us know if that still displays properly. Ultimately you will have to remove teh back of the TV and take a look at all the boards and check for obvious damage like domed,leaking capacitors etc. Post some good pictures of your boards with your question so that we can see what you see. Nothing works on the screen. I’ll take the back off the tv tomorrow and send photos. Thanks!!
I have sent photos with the back open. The center box at the top , I can’t open without cutting tape.
