Bose SoundDock Portable v2

Released in 2008, has 30 pin connector (can be used with iPhone 4S and below) which will not work with newer models. The main differences between this model and the first edition is the remotes layout and color. Product features include: rechargeable lithium-ion battery, rotating docking system, remote, portable, built in carrying handle, and Bose quality speaker.

Plays well, volume on remote works, will not charge or control iPod

The remote controls the Volume. Ipod plays when manually started but will not charge on the dock. Remote will not control the ipod or change selection.

@oldturkey03 I have three, an early version iPod photo-30G, I have a newer iPod Touch with Lightning plug and adapter, I also have a blue tooth adapter that will talk with the touch. None will get power from the portable sound dock. controls don't work either but I can change the volumn with the remote.
