Motherboard Failed Repair Help

Hi, I dropped my phone and my motherboard has now stopped working, the local phone shop has said this needs replacing but they do not do this.

Does anyone know where in the West Midlands (UK) I could try? My only pictures of my late nephew are on this phone and it didn’t pick it up on a backup as the storage data was not big enough to do so

If you “replace” the logic board, you will lose all of your pictures and data.

The only way to recover the pictures is to have the logic board repaired. In some cases, the phone can be fully functional and in other cases, it only needs to work enough to recover the data. However, you didn’t give us much information to work with so that still needs to be determined.

As for repair, look locally for a reputable shop that does micro-soldering repairs. Ideally, you want to find someone local but good workmanship trumps locality, especially when data is critical. There are many shops worldwide that do this so you shouldn't have any problems finding them.

If you can't find one locally, then consider mail-in repair. There are several reputable micro-solderers patrolling this forum.  You can also click on my profile to learn more about my services, at the very least, it can serve as a data point.
