Hi,

The camera may have a faulty CCD sensor or perhaps there is a problem with the motherboard or both.

Has the camera been dropped at all or gotten wet?

Try taking a picture, (I realize that you cannot “see” what you are taking) and then download it to a computer to check if there is a valid picture or just a black image.

If there is a valid picture then as you say that the LCD screen still displays “info” there may be a motherboard fault which prevents the image collected by the CCD sensor from being shown on the display.

If there is only a black image being shown then it is either a faulty sensor or a motherboard problem.

As you haven’t mentioned any other problems, more likely it is a sensor problem as the camera apparently seems to mostly function OK, i.e turns on/off OK, menus displayed OK etc.

Here’s a link to the ifixit Kodak PixPro AZ251 guide which may help if you decide to open the camera and inspect the CCD sensor etc.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find any replacement sensors online. You may have better luck.
