it was one with the invidia death chip I figured (1489)so purchased a board that was listed as alternative lenovo used with intel chip (1487)

just got it replaced and powered up to find?

exact same problem!

bills mounting but i would like to get the darn thing working

fan comes on cant hear much in the way of drive activity…

and when i pressed the vantage button i did briefly see the littl house symbols 2 of them

snuck up on it again and got the house symbols very briefly before they departed again

hi and thanks oldturkey;-)

I borrowed a screen n cords today and…ZIP!

the thinfilm appears to be intact no tears etc i can find

so cheesed off and pulling screen to bits would be a right pain!

guess its looking like the only option

or just finding a trashed one with a hopefully ok screen to do a total swap?

its the older IBM thinkpad logo be annoying to lose that

cheers, L

Yes it would be okay to do a total swap. It'll be easiest

@overit

since you’ve already replaced the motherboard, the only things left are the display cable and the LCD. Connect an external monitor and see if that shows anything.
