Display - weird behaviour after replacing a broken one

Hi,

I replaced the broken screen of my iPhone 8 with the one sold by iFixit. I followed the detailed guide and everything went ok. It works but I have noticed some issues. Problem is that it feels too responsive and/or sensitive and sometimes not responsive at all.

Some examples:

  • the 3D touch after replacement was very sensitive; with ‘medium’ it was always recognised as 3D touch even if I was barley touching the screen. After rebooting the iPhone, the 3D touch is very hard to get even with the light setting.
  • Sometimes it fails to work, e.g. touching the arrow to go back several times before it works (not always on the same spot)
  • While scrolling down/up, it selects where I am touching (most annoying problem)

Do you think it is software issue? Replacement procedure went smooth and I don’t think I made any mistake but, could it be that something went wrong?

Cheers,

Matteo

The first thing I would do would be to contact iFixit support. If it is a faulty screen, they will replace it under warranty.
