MacBook LCD Screen Assembly Testing Tool

Hi,

Is there a testing tool out there that can be used to test MacBook LCD screens? Mainly to test if the screen is defective itself or if there is something wrong with the logicbaod or the ribbons/cables.

I know there are some tools you can buy to test laptop screens but not sure if they work with MacBook screens, especially with the full display assembly.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks,

RN

How many displays are you testing a dozen or 20 or more?

I haven’t needed anything special. At one point I was working at a company that had quite a few Unibody systems so I always had one system which was missing its display that I used as a testbed. The retina’s a bit tricky as Apple has I think five different screens now which some are not all cross compatible with one another. And then there is the newer 2016 and onward models which are very different!

The only risk you have in your display less system test bed is wearing out the display connector.
