My Laptop's Screen Issue

So I have a Toshiba Satellite U925T im pretty sure, and I've had an issue about thr screen fot a while and now its at the worst condition right now.

So a few days back when I was on vacation and so I gave this laptpp to my neighbours and when I came back I took it from them. This was when I noticed that the screen would open up and when I pressed the bottom part of it, it turns on and I would try to keep the position to make it work.

So I managed to do that and the next day i pressed it and noticed a few color glitches or something. In the emd i got it to work, that was until today when i did it, each day the condition got worse and now it had alot of color glitches before it has become completely black now.

I think its because of the connection to the screen or something, I dont really know.

I have a recording of the last moment it worked. If I get a reply asking for it, icll happily send it here.

Please help me with this, I really need this.

Thank You.

possibly not - there are a number of different types of display cable socket found on both the back of the screen and on the motherboard itself. If you are going to replace ANY internal part, it’s always best to get one for your specific make and model.

I believe the issue could possibly be the display cable, so you will probably need a new display cable. I cannot seem to find one so you may have to go look for a new computer if the almighty Greybeards come around and determine that too. But do not fret, it is very possible to retrieve all your files from the Hard Drive of your old computer so you will not lose all your files.

Thank you for the reply, and sorry for the late reply.

Also, is there a way to fix my current display cable? What actually is the matter with the current one I have?

And, is it possible to use other toshiba laptop display cables as a substitute for this one?

Thanks Again.

I cannot really explain what is wrong with your current display cable but it will need to be replaced. If you are able to reuse display cables from other toshiba laptops and have it work, yay you! I am unable to source a display cable for you at this time so you will probably have to look for a new computer if no one here is able to source one.

So theres basically no way to adjust something and fix my current cable?

And also my other question is that IF I were to use another toshiba laptop's display cable (a toshiba laptop that isnt a satellite), will it work?

Sorry, not probably the greatest solution here either. I would just get a new laptop at this point.

Well can you at least tell me where can I get a display cable for my laptop? I cant afford to buy a new one..

I dont have solution but I have same laptop and the touch screen capability is not working.

I read elsewhere the issue is also the screen cable but I think maybe Toshiba doesnt sell that part.

Nowadays the screen is a bit more fussy and will only work when partially extended.

Anyway now I try to replace the battery maybe that fixes als my touchscreen problem
