How can I access the components inside my iPhone SE? (Alternate layout

I just unscrewed the bottom of the phone, and popped it open with a suction cup. However when I look at the inside, I don’t have the same layout as can be seen in the videos on this website. Their is a metalic shield plate covering the battery and the mother board, as well as a black border at the top and bottom. There are what seems to be screws but none of the tools I have can turn them. Any guides or info that can used to assist me?

edit: ok, so i found what happened! The lcd screen split in half… the protective shield stayed down with the back of the phone

While reading your question, before the edit, my first thought was that you may have confused the SE for the 5S or vice versa.

Sometimes screens will delaminate like that although that is usually because it was a lower quality aftermarket screen or because something exceptional happened to an original device. Once you’ve remove the old screen entirely, everything should look as expected. Don’t hesitate to report back if you need more help.
