Newly fixed iPhone 6 touchscreen works only in certain situations.
I recently replaced the front panel on an iPhone 6 (blank factory restored to iOS 11.4) that was dropped and had a shattered screen. Everything went great and the phone is working near perfectly, except for one caveat.
The very bottom of the touchscreen is unresponsive, but only in specific situations.
For example, when trying to set up the phone, I am unable to touch the “Set Up Manually” prompt or the “Agree” button at the bottom of ToS; however, I can click the “Cancel” button on the menu, type spaces on the spacebar, and other instances too. It is like 50/50 on when I can touch buttons on the very bottom on the screen. This makes it perplexing since it seems to be split between hardware and software.
I have tried taking it apart again and inspecting the digitizer cable connection, but everything seems fine.
Make my day!
Is this a good question?
