My PS4 Pro suffered from water damage

So my PS4 Pro was sitting in my brothers basement, and the drains backed up and flooded the basement with 2 feet of water. The water has since receded and I brought the PS4 home. So I set it up on a table and took it completely apart. By the way, it wasn’t even plugged in when this happened. So anyway I have the motherboard and everything else propped up to dry on the table. The only thing is the BIOS battery on the MB was corroded and when I tried to pull the battery out it snapped the battery housing right off the MB. Assuming the system wasn’t destroyed by the water damage, do you think it’ll still work fine without that battery? The time is set via internet anyway right?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Generally the “bios battery” doesn't just hold the time but also settings along with other non configurable system settings. If it survived the liquid ingress the battery will most likely need to be installed. You could purchase a wired version of the battery with equivalent voltage and mAh rating and solder it in place via the connecting pins on the motherboard. I would recommend cleaning the board completely and leaving it to dry for a couple of days. Try to power it on without the battery first and with minimal parts installed, as in just the pay connected to the mobo to see if it will POST.

It's been drying for 3 days now so tomorrow I'll try your suggestions and report back. Thanks.
